If you've come to this site, someone recently gave you the info about my 'Friends and family' private holiday rental offer.
I'm offering my house on a weekly rental on selected dates. (Price was shared via email & social networks).

It's located in the town of Biganos in the Bassin d'Arcachon region in South West France, on the Atlantic coast, 40 mins away from Bordeaux.
The house is a spacious family home in a quiet area with generous outside space, can sleep up to 6.
The area is a renowned tourist spot in France and offers plenty of outdoor activity, with multiple beaches, lakes, attractions, wineyards and more all within about a 30 minute drive.
Please contact me for any dates left this year.
What the house has to offer
Large master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, guest bedroom, both with their own TV's.
Living room and dining area with 2 sofabeds, kitchen with family fridge and breakfast bar.
Games/reading room, family bathroom, covered and open terraces, pool and sun deck, green outdoor space, BBQ area.

Important notice:
The house has 2 live-in cats (Tom the redhead and his sister Bali).
Both are 13yrs old and have spent all their lives at the house. They will remain present during your stay and are used to have guests feed them.
Generally, they are very friendly, docile and cuddly once they've got to meet you. During the summer, they mainly lounge in the shade and will only become active at feeding time at around 5pm.

The rental proposal includes giving them their main feed in the evening and filling their dry food bowl in the morning.
What the area has to offer
The general shape of the Bassin d'Arcachon is that of an equilateral triangle pointing north, the southwest corner of which is open to the sea, between Cap Ferret and the town of Arcachon.
Biganos is located on the South eastern point of that triangle.

The Bassin (as the locals call it) is very much like a bath tub. It empties and fills almost completely with each tide, making it a very unique natural habitat and particularly famous for its oyster farms.

Just south of the entrance to the Bassin is the Dune of Pilat, the tallest sand dune in Europe. With more than two million visitors per year it is number 1 tourist attraction in the region and an absolute must see.

Aside from the sand dune, you can visit the different villages and towns all around the Bassin, each with their own charm.
Then of course there is the ocean and lakes for swimming, surfing and watersports.

Overview Map

A little further away is the city of Bordeaux, a bussling city with UNESCO World Heritage architecture and its famous wine.

And a little further away still is the seaside resort of Biscarosse (50 mins) with its daily night market in July and August.

A little over 1hr inland you'll find the wine destination St Emilion, 2hrs inland is the Dordogne region, famous for its castles.
2hrs south is the Basque country with the beautiful town of Biarritz, followed by St Jean de Luz along the coast and San Sebastian across the spanish border.

I have explored the area quite a bit in the last 15 years, so I can give you plenty of tips depending on what you want to do. Just ask before you arrive.
Below you'll find a few suggestions and some of my favourites.
